Hello! I am Vik. By day I teach English — mostly to children, online — and in the evenings and holidays I build the classroom tools I always wished existed.
I am a Canadian native English speaker with a bachelor’s degree in teaching and TESOL certification. I began teaching in 2019 and spent around three years teaching in China. Since then I have lived in Indonesia and taught online, from complete beginners to adults.
Teaching online is what made the apps happen. A soundboard that floats over Zoom, student names with star rewards, a board game I can fill with the week’s words — each one began as a fix for something that actually happened in a lesson. If it does not help in front of real students, it does not ship.
The question I kept hearing from colleagues was simple: “can I have a copy?” That is how this site started. Publishing these tools is my way of sharing them with teachers who need the same things.
