Overview
Teacher Vik has found a magic potion lab, and every potion does something funny to him. Red makes him burp fire, yellow gives him an electric shock and blue turns his eyes into fountains. Children learn the colour words by giving Vik the potions and watching what happens.
Round 1 teaches red, yellow and blue. In Round 2 Madame Muddle the witch pops out of her cauldron and shows how two colours make a new one: red and yellow make orange, yellow and blue make green, blue and red make purple. In Round 3 children pour three potions to find seven more colours, such as red-orange and yellow-green, with clues when only a few are left.
Ten short review games keep the colours fresh: Bubble Pop, Sleepy Bats, Potion Detective, Look Like This!, Frog Hop, Peek Under the Lid, Catch the Drops, Recipe Pairs, the Colour Wheel and Potion Rush. The finale adds two secret potions, black and white, and mixing them makes grey.
Every round is open from the start, so children who already know the basic colours can jump straight to mixing. A colour only counts as learned after several right answers in different games. Colours a child mixes up come back more often, and wrong answers always say which colour was chosen, so mistakes teach too.
